Re: Three duncans with unique appearances
I'm really drawn to the pink ones, there's something about the way the green pops on the ends of the tentacles. I've had my own purple duncan colony for a couple of years now, and it's amazing how well they thrive - I got it back when everyone thought duncans only came in one color, so it's been ...

Re: Three duncans with unique appearances
Those corals are absolutely stunning. I'm curious, what's your feeding schedule like for them? I've been targeting mine with Mysis once or twice a week, seems to be doing the trick.
I also broadcast Reef Roids a couple times a week and feed Rod's Food to the tank a couple times a week too - it ...

Three duncans with unique appearances
Duncans have won me over so far. They're visually stunning, add movement to the tank, and aren't aggressive. Plus, they're fun to feed and seem pretty chill about everything. I've got three now, and despite there supposedly being only one type, I'm finding they can look pretty different - kinda like ...

Re: is my royal gramma missing?
If the Gramma has indeed passed, I'd recommend leaving it for the CUC to take care of, and then doing a water change after a couple of days. There are many potential causes for this, like parasites such as isopods. Considering the tank's size, I'd suggest sticking with the two Ocelaris Clownfish ...

Re: Caring for hydrocotyle tripartita
I've found hydrocotyle tripartita to be pretty low-maintenance, personally. No major issues over the years. I do try to avoid keeping it with corys or other bottom-dwellers, though - they can be a bit too enthusiastic with their digging. I've had it thrive in both high and low light, with and ...

Re: Feeding african cichlids with goldfish food
From what I'm aware, color enhancers in goldfish pallets shouldn't have any other impact on the fish apart from the color aspect.

Re: Feeding african cichlids with goldfish food
I'm not getting what's the big deal about comparing ingredients, does it really make a difference?

Re: Feeding african cichlids with goldfish food
Take a closer look at the ingredients of that goldfish pallet and compare them to a standard cichlid food. I had a similar situation with some free cichlid food I got from a local pet store's anniversary party - I don't even keep cichlids, but I figured why not. When I checked the ingredients, they ...

Re: Betta with a large belly
I'm pretty sure this is a bacterial infection that's causing the issue. Adding salt to the water is a way to kill off the bacteria, but be careful not to overdo it - it can harm the fish too. And please, avoid using table salt, it's got additives like iodine that your fish doesn't need.
The general ...

Re: Betta with a large belly
I think it's dropsy, but the unusual appearance is down to the fish's anatomy.
