Re: Zoanthids growing in unusual patterns
They resemble RPE from Indo, I'd say they're a nice zoa, that green mouth does give it a bit of a PE vibe though.

Re: My hammer coral has turned green
I'm guessing they must've had a ton of blue LEDs in their tank, 'cause that would explain the crazy yellow color I saw.

Re: need assistance right away
Your tank's clearly still in the cycling process or maybe something's gone belly up in there. Either way, it's time to take action, and fast.
You need to do a massive water change, like, now. Have you got a spare tank or somewhere to temporarily relocate your livestock until you get this under ...

Re: Aggressive clown fish behavior
No, it's not trying to turn the little one into a female, it's just seeing it as an invader in its territory.
How long ago did you add the second clownfish to the tank?
At this point, I'd recommend temporarily removing both fish, rearranging the rockwork, and then reintroducing them together ...

Re: sharing a different view
I've got a solid tank going, my fish are thriving, and I'm not second-guessing my methods. I know everyone's got their own ways of doing things, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts. I've been lurking on this forum for a while now, and I always seem to pick up something new. For the past couple ...

Re: Is old school coral keeping making a comeback
It seems like most hobbyists nowadays aren't buying the actual coral, but rather a nicely edited photo that captures the idea of it. It's become the norm, largely thanks to forums like r2r that thrive on rebranding common corals as something new and special.

Re: Is this a puffer?
A Valentini puffer could work in a 30g tank. It's generally reef-safe, but if it gets hungry, inverts and corals might become a snack.

Re: When coral rx fails, what's the next step
I agree, low alkalinity can cause issues. Bumping it up might help, could see an improvement.

Re: Keeping kryptonite candy cane corals: challenges and tips
I've personally had the opposite experience with kryptonites - they've been one of the more low-maintenance corals for me. As long as I avoid relocating them to a spot with higher light levels without giving them time to adjust, they seem to do just fine. But I've noticed that even slight changes in ...

Re: Increasing light, stems still growing
I think your ramp period is way too long, 1.5 hours is even a bit much. The polyps aren't getting much light as it is, so I'd try shortening that ramp period gradually - that's probably why they're still stretching.
