When coral rx fails, what's the next step

My corals are really struggling - this is the second piece that's dying on me. I gave Coral Rx a shot and did see a few tiny worms in the container, but now another head is under attack. What's going on here and what's the next step I should take? Tank's only 3 months old.

My current parameters are:

Alk 7.3

I think it's possible the worms are the issue, in that case I'd recommend using Bayer to get rid of them. You may also want to consider gradually increasing your Alk levels, they're a bit on the low side.

I agree, low alkalinity can cause issues. Bumping it up might help, could see an improvement.

I'll grab a multimeter and test for stray voltage then. Got a bag of carbon right by my return pump inlet, so that's already covered.

I suspected worms initially, given the Coral RX dip revealed their presence in the container. It appears something is gradually eroding the coral. I'll boost my Alk and test for stray voltage. I experienced a similar issue in my 100g tank a month ago, prompting me to transfer this piece to my 58g. Interestingly, all other corals are thriving, except for this specific one.

I'd take another look at your salinity levels - low salinity can be a real killer for some corals, leading to slow tissue loss and ultimately, death.
