Re: My onyx lagoon zoa garden
My local shop gets their premium zoas and palys from top breeders like WWC, then they frag and auction them off. The prices are super low, until I jump in and bid - it's like nobody knows what they're looking at, so they just wait for me to set the value.

Re: My onyx lagoon zoa garden
How high-end are you looking to go with your zoas? You can find some solid options on the forums, but if you're willing to splurge, buying directly from the breeder's site is the way to go. Are you looking for some tried-and-true starter zoas or diving straight into the deep end with some CB ...

Re: My onyx lagoon zoa garden
You just missed out on the World Wide Corals 24-hour live sale - their zoa and paly selection was insane. I managed to snag some Pinky & the Brain, Mambo Jambo, Rainbow Sakuras, Magicians, Kedds Reds, and an Illuminati - prices were ridiculously low compared to what I've seen online, and I couldn't ...

Re: seeking assistance with stocking
I'd advise against the flame angel, to be honest. Firstly, they're really pricey. Secondly, you need to provide them with a lot of algae or they'll start eating your corals - I came across an article in PFK that highlighted this issue. Apparently, one flame angel completely destroyed a reef tank. If ...

Re: Is old school coral keeping making a comeback
In my experience, you can snag some great deals on high-end zoas. My local fish store, for example, occasionally runs auctions for fragged zoas and you can get them at a steal since there aren't many bidders.

Re: Is old school coral keeping making a comeback
The zoa naming trend has definitely contributed to the hype, and in a way, it's been beneficial for the hobby as a whole. I mean, it's probably driven up prices, but at the same time, it's generated a lot of interest in reefing, which is a plus. Sellers have definitely benefited from it, that's for ...

Re: damsels of the andamans
Yeah I was thinking of getting around 4 or 5, that way they can school together and look even better in the tank.

damsels of the andamans
Hi,
I'm thinking of getting some new fish and I'd love to know if they'd work well in my reef. Specifically, I'm wondering if they'd be compatible with my current tankmates: a Bristle tooth tang, two ocellaris clowns, a shrimp goby, a convict blenny, a six line wrasse, a Scotts fairy wrasse, and ...
