My onyx lagoon zoa garden

Post by FreshCore »

New SPS reef project, 65 gallons.

Tank specs:
- 20 gal Innovative Marine Peninsula
- Ecotech MP10
- Es trailblazerps Nano Skimmer

Time to elevate my zoa collection. Where can I find top-notch zoas? Stoked about this little setup.

The chocolate starfish is just hanging out, waiting for my harlequins to get hungry again.

How high-end are you looking to go with your zoas? You can find some solid options on the forums, but if you're willing to splurge, buying directly from the breeder's site is the way to go. Are you looking for some tried-and-true starter zoas or diving straight into the deep end with some CB Bowzers?

Local reefers, forsale threads here, and meets in your area are all good options. Check them out, do your due diligence.

You just missed out on the World Wide Corals 24-hour live sale - their zoa and paly selection was insane. I managed to snag some Pinky & the Brain, Mambo Jambo, Rainbow Sakuras, Magicians, Kedds Reds, and an Illuminati - prices were ridiculously low compared to what I've seen online, and I couldn't find anything close locally. I did miss out on Nebuflintix9 though.

If you're serious about stepping up your zoa game, go all in on premium. The difference is night and day - trust me, you'll start looking at those more generic zoas and palys like they're just filler coral.

WWC, Planet Zoa, Your Reef, and Cultivated Reef have some awesome zoas, along with a bunch of other sites out there.

I'm literally just down the street from YourReef - three miles to be exact. The people are top-notch, coral selection is stunning. I mean, what more could you ask for in a place to drool over their stock? Their zoa selection, in particular, is really something special.

I'm stuck ordering online since there aren't any great coral stores around me.

My local shop gets their premium zoas and palys from top breeders like WWC, then they frag and auction them off. The prices are super low, until I jump in and bid - it's like nobody knows what they're looking at, so they just wait for me to set the value.
