damsels of the andamans

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting some new fish and I'd love to know if they'd work well in my reef. Specifically, I'm wondering if they'd be compatible with my current tankmates: a Bristle tooth tang, two ocellaris clowns, a shrimp goby, a convict blenny, a six line wrasse, a Scotts fairy wrasse, and two pyjama cardinals. And of course, my trusty cuc.

I've had some bad experiences with damsels in the past - they can be pretty aggressive. However, my local fish store has a nice shoal in their display tank and they seem to be doing alright. Plus, they'd be a great tank filler.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

They're generally considered the least aggressive of the damsel family, so you should be alright. I'd still recommend getting more than one though, since they're schooling fish and tend to do better in groups.

Yeah I was thinking of getting around 4 or 5, that way they can school together and look even better in the tank.

It depends on the tank size, to be honest. If it's a decent size, like I'm assuming yours is given the mix of fish you've got, they should be alright. Just remember, as floralix said, they're schooling fish so you'll want a few.

Changed my mind on these now, decided to go with something else.

Sounds alright to me, ocellaris aren't the least aggressive of all damsels, that was actually said about the fish you were originally considering.
