Re: exploring malawi

Zorchzing CP!!! You really have gone full circle.

Haha, I've come a long way, haven't I? Funnily enough, switching to Africans made perfect sense, especially with the hard water in my area. I recall never having much luck with breeding my SA's, fluxx.

I picked up a 4ft tank for marine QT ...

exploring malawi

I got into keeping Malawis after setting up a 2ft cube marine tank - we just fell in love with the whole marine scene and decided to sell our 6x2x2 SA & CA cichlid tank, which we'd lost interest in. We'd already started making plans for a 6ft marine tank, and in the meantime, we got rid of our 6ft ...

Keeping polypterus in a mbuna tank

Hi all,

I'm in the process of a major tank overhaul, swapping out my American cichlids for marine fish. I had a 6x2x2 tank for them, but sold a few, then got a temporary 5ft tank, and eventually sold that one too and replaced it with a 6ft reef tank.

We've now sold most of the American cichlids ...

The one in the middle was supposed to be a female version of the one below, but I'm still unsure about its ID. I'm fairly certain it's a female, though, since its colors aren't as vibrant.

I think it's quite likely he's a Peacock, but since he's still young, I'm guessing the red tail will develop over time.

I was told this guy's an Aulonocara Ngara - Flametail Peacock Cichlid, but that's incorrect, right?

Re: Request for additional ids

Don't think it's a Milomo, mate. I'm still convinced it's a Venustus - it's got that distinctive blue face and them giraffe markings. The bloke I got it from said it was a Livingstonii, but I'm not buying it.

Request for additional ids

Apologies for the rubbish photos.

1)

Ignore the bogwood for now, it's just there for the plecs and they'll be relocated later.

2) Venustus?

3)

I'll get some better pics up soon, struggling with the lighting in this tank.
