choosing the right carpet for a 46g bowfront tank

I just revamped my tank over the weekend, switching from gravel to black diamond sand. Established plants are already thriving in the back, and I've added some new ones like rotalla that are still getting settled. I also attached some Vesicularia to the driftwood on the right using thread, hoping it ...

Converting from gravel to substrate/soil: advice needed

Hi all, I'm planning on switching my 46 gallon bowfront planted tank from gravel to a substrate/soil base for better aquascaping. I've got a Fluval 3.0 light, CO2, and about 20 live bearers in there now. My pH is around 7.8 and the water is fairly hard, which I'm not thrilled about.

Think of it like this - the more light you add, the more nutrients you'll need to provide, so ...

Do red plants require iron supplements when using thrive?

I've got a high-tech tank with green and red plants, and I'm using Seachem root tabs and Thrive all-in-one from Niloc-G. The plants seem happy and are growing well. However, I've noticed that the new growth on my red plants is coming in green (picture #1), and the Rotala rotundifolia I added a week ...
