Re: care for blue spotted tang
I understand where you're coming from, but I think you're being a bit harsh. I'm just trying to learn and get the best for my fish. I didn't mean to mislead anyone, I'm just not that great with numbers.

Re: care for blue spotted tang
If your nitrites and ammonia levels are zero, then your water parameters are fine. However, I'd advise you to double-check for any fluctuations in these levels before adding more fish. Rushing into things can be disastrous, and I'd hate to see you end up with a tank full of dead fish. The thing with ...

Re: care for blue spotted tang
Before adding more livestock, I'd get the nitrites and nitrates sorted out, aim for as low as possible, ideally zero nitrites, any reading is bad.

Re: stocking a 205-liter tank
Most marine fish are indeed vibrant and colourful. I've always been a fan of clownfish, but I think they're more suited to smaller tanks. Fluxx, don't you recommend growing a reef in the tank and gradually introducing fish? To be honest, I'm not well-versed in marine fish as I've mostly worked ...

Re: my holiday stocking list
I thought chromis were pretty chill, but then I brought home two bicolour chromis and the bigger one took out the smaller one in a week flat... ended up getting six so they'd calm down, but that just led to overstocking and a huge headache trying to catch them to rehome... took me nearly two months ...

Re: need a name for my fish
There's no one-size-fits-all rule for stocking saltwater tanks - it's all about observing the fish and how they're interacting with each other and their environment at any given time.

Re: is my system compatible
I've had experience with clownfish, I had two Nemos in my tank for a few months, then I added two more of the same species, but smaller. It took a while for them to get along, clowns are super territorial and picky about other clowns.

Re: is my system compatible
unfortunately, even though you're really into clowns and damsels, it doesn't mean they'll get along. mixing different clown species is a bad idea, they'll fight and kill each other. and as for damsels, they're super aggressive towards other fish. what everyone's trying to say is that you shouldn't ...
