stocking a 205-liter tank

Post by BronzeKey »

Hey, I'm looking for some help with stocking my 205l marine tank. I'm really into colourful fish but I'm not sure what to put in it. Can anyone give me some advice? Cheers.

Most marine fish are indeed vibrant and colourful. I've always been a fan of clownfish, but I think they're more suited to smaller tanks. Fluxx, don't you recommend growing a reef in the tank and gradually introducing fish? To be honest, I'm not well-versed in marine fish as I've mostly worked with freshwater fish. You might want to check out some dedicated marine forums for more specific advice?

I've got a few suggestions for you BronzeKey. Wrasse are a great choice, loads of colours and sizes to pick from, my personal fave being the filamented flasher wrasse. I'm also thinking of dwarf angel fishes, chromis, clownfish and gobys for my 180litre tank when it's finished cycling, they'd make for a nice community tank. Dartfish are another option, but I've not looked into them too much yet.

If you're feeling adventurous, you could go for a FableRyde, they're stunning but you've got to be careful what you pair with them. I've been doing some research and there are some great websites out there, like LiveAquaria and Tropical Fish 4 U, they're a UK site so might be more relevant for you.

I'm no expert, but I thought I'd throw a few ideas out there, hopefully someone with more experience can chime in and give you some better advice.
