Re: are sea horses a good idea?
Not a good idea. You'd be surprised how hungry your fish can get when they see something as unique as a seahorse.

Re: Troubleshooting bubble coral issues
600, that's crazy high. Either your test kit is off or you might've tested it wrong.
What's your Alk and Mag at, by the way?
Bubbles are pretty finicky about water parameters, most corals are like that too.

Re: My hammer coral has turned green
The store didn't dupe you, different lighting setups can really change the way a coral's colors pop. And let's not forget, corals stress out during transport, so give it some time to settle into its new home. If this were an online purchase, I might suspect some funny business, but since you saw it ...

Re: Frogspawn coral flesh detaching from skeleton
It's called polyp bailout, I've had a few of these instances in the past. Found some articles about it, and it seems it's not always due to water chemistry issues. Apparently, it can happen when the colony's not happy with its surroundings. It's also a way for the mother colony to reproduce by ...

Re: Target lps parameters for a 54g corner tank
I've got some experience with a similar setup, running a 54G corner tank myself, albeit with a different focus. Getting good filtration going in these systems can be a real challenge.

Re: can black-tipped reef sharks...
I think all sharks have to swim constantly because their spiracles don't move, so they have to keep water flowing over them to breathe.

Re: company stock listings
A single maroon could work in a 20 long, but that's about it - maybe add a small goby to complement.

Re: company stock listings
I'd choose option 2, seems like the safest bet for my FOWLR setup before it becomes a reef.

Re: Torch coral vs montipora coral
Don't move the torch if it's doing well in that spot. Trim back the monti, it's not worth risking the health of your torch. Move the monti to a safer location, it'll give it a chance to recover.

Re: Trumpet coral dying, what's going wrong?
What are your water parameters? Had issues with trumpets myself when Alk dropped too low.
