Yeah very true but if you're looking to mature a tank, you get all the rocks in, get it cycled, the works. Then once it's all settled, that's when you do the aquascaping, after you've rehomed the damsels and other fish you don't want long term. For me, it's all about planning ahead and having a clear idea of what you want to achieve - if you've got a solid plan in place, it's more likely to work out.

Re: A maroon clown in a large group
Hi guys, found a gold stripe maroon clown in town - it's like finding a needle in a haystack here. I'm not complaining though, I love Tucson. Picking her up tomorrow, which just so happens to be my birthday, and my daughter's convinced I'm 50 already. I'm sticking with 48, thanks for asking. Planning to just have one maroon clown, maybe add a small companion fish in a week or two. It's surreal going from 13 near-full-grown Africans to just one or two fish, but I'm excited for this new chapter, and especially for my future large tank.

You gotta cycle the tank first before adding anything else, just besides live rock.
Re: A maroon clown in a large group
You could also consider a damsel for cycling purposes, if you're going down that route.

"Hey all, check out my new Maroon clown pics on the photo site. I just posted some shots. Let me know what you think. It's eating but won't budge from the corner, thanks"
