Mama Discus fighting Dad w/ Fry

Post by pureride »

I've got a pair of turquoise that raised a batch of around 50 fry. They're doing alright in the grow out tank, thanks to dad doing most of the work. The next spawn didn't go so well - it was partially fungus-ed with just a few wigglers surviving. They moved the wigglers to a new tank but they vanished the next day. The latest spawn is mostly wigglers, about a hundred of them. For a day or so, the fry were grazing off dad but then mom started getting aggressive with him. She'd ram into him, lip lock, and scatter the fry - they'd find their way back to dad, mostly because mom would shake them off. Today, the fry are gone.

Try using egg crate as a divider. Make some holes in it.
