200-gallon stocking suggestions
Just upgraded to a 200-gallon tank and looking for stocking ideas. Want a mix of peaceful community fish and maybe a centerpiece species. Any favorites that work well in big tanks?

Dude, 200 gallons is prime real estate for Discus. They're chill, colorful, and love the space. Pair 'em with some Cardinal Tetras and Corydoras for a killer setup. Just keep the water clean, yeah?

Discus are a great choice, but they require stable water parameters. Aim for 82-86°F, pH around 6.5-7.0, and soft water. A group of 6-8 Discus would thrive in that size tank. Add some German Blue Rams for bottom diversity.

Yo, if you're gonna go big, why not throw in some Angelfish? They're like the kings of tall tanks. Just watch out for nippy tankmates, they can be drama queens sometimes.

Agreed on the Discus, but make sure you've got a solid filtration system. A canister filter like the Fluval FX6 would handle the bioload nicely.discusfan2 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 22, 2025 4:57 pm Dude, 200 gallons is prime real estate for Discus. I'd suggest a school of Rummy Nose Tetras. They're super active and look amazing in large groups. Plus, they're peaceful and won't bother other fish.

Bro, get some Electric Blue Acaras. They're stunning and way easier to care for than Discus. Plus, they've got personality for days.
