discus from Liz

Re: discus from Liz

Glad to hear the update, Jay. Keep us posted on how they're doing. We'd love some pics once they've grown into their new tank. Just remember to feed them well and change the water daily - that's the key to getting them big and healthy like their parents.

That's fantastic news, Jay. I'd love to see some pics of them now - even if they're still small.

Honestly, guys, SS's and turks aren't exactly showstoppers at this size. If Jay wants to share pics now, I'm cool with it, but let's be real, they'll look way more impressive after another month or so of growing and coloring up.

Great to see members interacting like this. Nice work, Brady and Liz. Updates would be awesome, maybe in the journals section would be a good spot.

I've had good experiences with Liz, can't go wrong. The reason these Discus aren't coloring up yet is likely due to lack of hormones.

I completely agree, FairyFish. They do take their time to color up as they mature. No artificial push for them to get all fancy at a young age, thanks to no hormones. And honestly, it's a good thing - those hormoned fish just don't live a long, healthy life.

That's the way it is. They color up as they mature. No hormones to rush the process. And that's why they live a longer, healthier life.

Re: discus from Liz

I'm going to sneak in here and post instead of the buy/sell section - hope I don't get in trouble. Huge thanks to the folks here and on AB who adopted my little ones. Most of you wanted more SS's, and I get it, the SS parents are stunning, but I still have some gorgeous Blue Turks left from the same parents. Those who've bought both know SS's tend to mature slower - in my experience, that's just how it is, no idea why.

I've got 6 Blue Turks for $150, same as the SS's. You all know what the parents look like, so I'll take a pic of these little Turks either tonight after the water change or tomorrow morning.

I'm really drawn to discus babies, but the truth is, space is a concern - and let's be honest, it's not just about the space for the babies, it's about the space they'll need when they grow into adults.
