Busy day today :).

Decided to give the bare bottom tank thing a shot last Friday. Had a 45 gallon just sitting there, so I filled it up, moved a filter from my 125 to the 45, and gave Hans a call. Picked up 8 discus from him, 2 1/2 inches each. They were supposed to arrive today. Was sipping coffee this morning when it hit me - the 45 wouldn't cut it long-term. I'd need something bigger, but I've got time. Checked Craigslist and Letgo, and found a nice acrylic 90 with a stand and hood for $500. But then I saw another acrylic 90, with an acrylic stand and hood, for $150. Had to jump on that deal. Called the seller, and they said I could pick it up. Got to the seller's place, and they told me the tank came with fish. Not interested. Just wanted the tank. Made the purchase and headed home. Got a call from my wife - the discus had arrived. Told her to check if they were alive. She freaked out when she saw the tank. I think she almost passed out. Crazy day, but I scored a great deal on the new tank. Will try to get some better pics tomorrow.

Love the chaos you've got going on, lunar. That's quite the adventure. Looking forward to seeing the discus settle in and become a bit more camera-friendly. They look like a great bunch, by the way. Got a pic of the wife's reaction when she saw the tank? I'm curious. And what strains did you end up with?

Got the new additions settled in and they're already coloring up. Picked up 2 of his new white leopard, 2 leopard, 2 checkerboard, and 2 German wonder. They came in 2 bags but all looked pink at first, now they're showing their true colors. The checkerboard, German wonder, and leopard are looking good, but the white leopard's gonna take some time to grow into its color - it's looking like the checkerboard for now.

No joke, Tom, you've been one busy guy. That first post of yours had me chuckling. Glad to hear the little ones from Hans are doing well, and I'm looking forward to seeing more pics of your new additions.

Added some pics from this morning. High one and low left, those are the white leopards I think. Bottom right near the high one, that's the checkerboards. Below those are the leopards, and the two with stripes, those are my German wonders.

Haha, nice one Deepsea, thanks for the laugh. Looking forward to seeing them settle in and become more photogenic for me, but they look nice. Did I get a pic of wifey's face when she came out to the truck? No, but I wish I did, would've been priceless. What strains did I get? Well, I got 2 of Hans' new white leopard, 2 leopard, 2 checkerboard and 2 German wonder. They came labeled 2 in a bag. But they all looked pink when they went into the tank. They are already starting to color up. The checkerboard, German wonder and leopard are all showing correctly. But the white leopard I think will have to grow into its color. It's looking the same colors as the checkerboard now.

Still holding water, that's a plus. Got a few scratches, ordered the scratch remover. Nice acrylic tank and stand, all in all.
