Giraffe peacock cichlid with a spot on its head

I've been observing my giraffe peacock and I noticed this spot on the top of its head - it looks a bit raw, but it doesn't seem to be fungal or infected. I actually went back to the LFS where I bought it, and I saw that their giraffes had similar spots on their heads too, but the other peacocks in the store were fine.

I'm a bit concerned - could this be a genetic issue? On the other hand, my peacock is one of the most active and colorful fish I have, and its waste is normal. I was worried it might poop out white stuff, but after adding some fresh cucumber to the tank, I watched it poop and it was a normal one. Actually, all my fish pooped after that, which was a relief for me.
