Considering the dwarf zebra lion fish, should i get one?
so i've been thinkin about gettin a dwarf zebra lionfish for my 75gallon aquarium instead of the full-sized one. reason bein, i'm thinkin it'll be less likely to eat my other tank mates like my two clown fish and lawn mower blenny. i'm wonderin if it'll go after my crabs and snails too, or if it'll leave 'em alone. also curious about my serpent sea star and mushrooms - would it see 'em as food? how big of a fish can it fit in its mouth, anyway? and would it even be possible to keep two of 'em in my tank? any info you guys can share would be awesome, even if i didn't ask about it specifically - can't have too much knowledge, right?

Dwarf zebra lionfish have some pretty flexible jaws, they can open up way wider than you'd think when they're closed. If your clownfish are already around 3 inches long, they should be alright, but if they're smaller, they might be in trouble. As for the rest of your tankmates, I'd say the crabs and starfish are probably gonna be on the menu, but the snails should be safe.

I'd expect a max size of around 6 inches in a home tank for Dendrochirus zebra, given the reported max is 7 inches. Anything under 3 inches is likely to be a meal for them eventually. They can open their mouths way bigger than you'd think, so that's something to consider.
