sharing tips for new plant keepers
I've been struggling with my Anubias lately, the leaves keep turning yellow. I've got a 20 gallon tank with moderate lighting and a basic substrate. Any tips on how to keep them healthy?

Anubias are pretty chill but they don't like too much light. Try moving them to a shaded spot or dimming your lights. Also, check your water params, especially nitrates. High nitrates can mess with them.

I had the same issue last month. Turns out my fertilizer was too strong. Switched to a milder one and they're doing better now. Maybe cut back on dosing?

Yep, nitrates are key. I keep mine under 20 ppm and they're thriving. Also, make sure you're not burying the rhizome, that's a common mistake.

My Anubias died last week. Not sure why.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I'll try moving them to a shadier spot and check my nitrates. Appreciate the help!

No problem! Let us know how it goes. Also, if you're using liquid ferts, try dosing less frequently. Anubias are slow growers so they don't need much.

Another thing to consider is your water flow. Anubias prefer gentle currents. If your filter's too strong, it might stress them out.

Yeah, flow matters more than people think. I've got mine near the bottom of the tank where the current's weakest. They've been happy there for months.
