I'd seriously consider rearranging my living room, maybe even reassigning some family members' bedrooms, before I'd part with that beautiful tank.

They say letting go of something you love is a real challenge. I'm facing that with my 120 gal tank, but I'm excited about the new setup. The 33 FB Hex is actually similar to my second tank ever - I lost that one to a robbery, and it was tough to move on. But in a weird twist of fate, I recently had the chance to get this 33 FB with a solid wood stand and hood for a steal, just before I got the 120.

Now, about those peacocks - I'm not too familiar with them, and I think a smaller species would be a better fit for my tank. I'm thinking of pairing them with some dwarf shell dwellers. Any suggestions on a good combination?

You're looking at a 33 gallon tank and thinking about combining shellies with larger cichlids - I gotta advise against that. Shellies are gonna be on the menu for those bigger fish, and a tank that size just isn't gonna provide enough space for them to coexist peacefully.

Just sold the 120 gal with stand for a cool $400 - I'd have taken $300, so I'm stoked. Did a live transfer of stock and filtration to the 33 gal, so it's currently overstocked with plenty of established filtration. It'll be an interesting experiment before I add new stock.
