helping my rescued betta

Just picked up this guy from LFS, wondering if that's a disease on his head or just a natural pattern - anyone have an idea?

Could you post a higher quality picture of the fish, or maybe a few from different angles?

Based on the images, I'd say the marking on his head appears to be part of his natural colouration.
