Growing water wisteria: tips and advice

I've had Water Wisterias in my tank for over a month and I'm just not seeing the growth I'd like. The plant is getting new growth, but it's coming in really slow. I've been dosing with Flourish Comprehensive and Excel, and my lighting is moderate. I'm wondering if there's a way to speed things up - maybe some trimming techniques I'm not aware of?
