Growing water wisteria: tips and advice
Growing water wisteria: tips and advice
I've had Water Wisterias in my tank for over a month and I'm just not seeing the growth I'd like. The plant is getting new growth, but it's coming in really slow. I've been dosing with Flourish Comprehensive and Excel, and my lighting is moderate. I'm wondering if there's a way to speed things up - maybe some trimming techniques I'm not aware of?

A photo would really help us figure out what's going on with your Water Wisteria. This is a fast-growing plant, so it's weird that it's not thriving for you. Good light and nutrients are key for these plants.
When you say you have moderate lighting, what exactly do you mean by that? Is it direct, indirect, or a mix of both? Also, are you using the Flourish Comprehensive as directed? It should be enough for your plants, but it depends on your water's GH levels. You might want to check your municipal water supplier's website for that info.
As for the Excel, I'd personally avoid using it. It's got glutaflakedehyde, a toxic disinfectant that can harm or even kill plants, bacteria, and fish if you're not careful. I know it's not meant for fish, but some plants are sensitive to it, and I just wouldn't risk it.
