Flow for lps corals
Flow for lps corals
I've got a spot with pretty strong flow and decent lighting. I gave a dragon soul favia a shot there but it didn't take, so I ended up moving it. Anyone have any other LPS suggestions that might do better in that area?
Re: Flow for lps corals
I'm curious about torch corals, they seem to thrive in high flow, but I'm also interested in hearing other suggestions for LPS that might do well in that spot.
Re: Flow for lps corals
My Duncan coral is thriving in the high flow area, seems to absolutely love it.
Re: Flow for lps corals
Chalices are known flow lovers, and from what I've seen, favias and favites aren't far behind in that regard.

Goniporas all the way. I've got a bunch of colonies, over a dozen, and they all thrive in high flow. I've had some for a couple years now, and the newer ones are doing great too. Flow seems to be the key for my gonis, and they're definitely one of my favorite LPS.
Re: Flow for lps corals
Torch corals and Duncan's are great choices. Mine thrive in medium to high flow, they really seem to enjoy it.
Re: Flow for lps corals
Most euphyllia seem to do alright with decent flow, as long as it's not blasting them directly.
Re: Flow for lps corals
My Torch does great with medium, random flow - it's really thriving in those conditions.
Re: Flow for lps corals
I'm with the consensus - Duncan and frogspawn/torch do great in high flow, just as long as it's not blasting them directly.
Re: Flow for lps corals
Torch corals are definitely a great choice for high flow areas, I've had amazing results with mine. They've grown huge tentacles, over a foot long, it's really impressive. I'll try to get a picture up soon so you can see for yourself.
