Observing ich on my coral beauty

Post by finnix25 »

my poor little darling's got ich spots now - started at 7pm and it's been getting worse gradually but slowly. gonna grab some reef and invert safe treatment tomorrow but it's too late now, 10:30pm already. turned off the tank lights, heard that helps slow things down.

now i've read that garlic can help, even fix the problem, so i'm thinking of trying that out. she's still eating the algae off the walls, is that a good sign?

also, what kind of garlic is everyone talking about? we don't have garlic juice here, so do i use minced garlic or what?

how long before the ich gets real bad? will she be ok till tomorrow morning when i get the meds?

i've got melafix and pimafix lying around, they stopped an outbreak in my f/w tank but it's been a while and i've heard some bad things about them, so i'm not sure if i should use them.

did a 2-bucket water change tonight, it's a 4ft tank, anything else i can do to help her out?
