I've got a couple of blue tursios in my tank, added them about a month ago. One's around 5 inches, the other's about 6 inches. Up until a couple of days ago, they were just cruising together, no issues. Now the larger one's chasing the smaller one - I've been told the dark blotches on the smaller one might mean it's a female? It doesn't seem aggressive, they're just keeping the other cichlids at bay, like a gentle "back off" vibe. The larger one's also been rubbing against the smaller one.
Anyone with more experience know if this is something to worry about? If they are male and female, could this be some kind of mating ritual or something else? I'm not sure how old they are - when do they usually reach maturity? Any advice would be great.
