are cichlids sensitive to light
are cichlids sensitive to light
I recently added two Yellow Lab Cichlids to my 120-gallon tank, and it's been less than a week. They're only about an inch long, but I've already noticed something interesting - they seem to dislike the tank light. As soon as it's on, they retreat to their caves. What I find peculiar is that the light is only 36W, which is relatively low-powered. Is this a normal behavior for Cichlids? Are they generally sensitive to light or is there something specific going on in my tank?
Re: are cichlids sensitive to light
Being small and new to the tank, they probably need time to settle in. Adding a few more might help them feel more at ease and less shy, but I'm not sure if that's the best idea with them being so sensitive to light already.
