Krib females

Post by barnicle »

Just got done with a pretty sweet haul from LFS this morning, snagged a bunch of rainbows to flesh out my tank and picked up a new Krib male to replace the one I lost recently...thought I'd found the perfect dude, but little did I know, I was in for a surprise. Unbagged him, and low and behold, I've got another female on my hands.

Honestly, I'm too lazy to take her back, which isn't the best attitude, I know...it's 240 litres, so they've got enough space for now. Might just end up gifting her to a mate of mine.

They're already going at it, flaring and showing off through the bag, so I'll be keeping a close eye on them while they sort out the pecking order...just what I needed, more drama.

Not quite the fireworks I was expecting. Been keeping an eye on them and they seem to be getting along just fine, no aggression in sight. They've been swimming together a bit, but mostly just doing their own thing. I've managed to snap a photo of the new one...I'm having second thoughts about its sex, though - it's definitely slender, but the fins are throwing me off.

Still waiting for the perfect shot of them together, but the new one's smaller than my female and has a different shape. Guess I'll just have to keep waiting to see how things play out.

Here's my girl, rounder in the belly, thought I'd share a pic for comparison, see how she differs from the new one.

Definitely a male, then.
