SW betta or a comet could work.
Calloplesiops altivelis, that's the one. They're great fish, but can take some time to settle in. Once they're happy, they're quite resilient, supposedly.

That's a real showstopper. I'm immediately drawn to learning more about these fish. Off to do some research, starting with the PFK article.

Yeah they do get pretty large, so you're looking at a tank that's at least 4-5 feet in length. They're not exactly the most active swimmers either, tend to just kinda float around. They're definitely eye-catching, but that's about it in terms of movement.

They're a bit too much for my little setup, but I've gotta admit, they're lovely. Something to aim for down the line, maybe with a bigger tank.
