Hi everyone,
I'm completely new to betta keeping and I recently fell for this stunning 'yellow half moon' betta I saw in the store.
Now that he's settled into his new tank, I've noticed his color has changed quite a bit - he's more of a pale pink with these gorgeous metallic/neon blue scales all over. His tail is still yellow, but it fades into a lovely shade of purple towards the end, with those same metallic blue streaks running through it.
I'm curious to know if there's a specific name for this color pattern, or if he's just a mix of different types. I've been doing some research and I'm thinking he might be a rosetail or feathertail - what do you guys think?
I'd really appreciate any input or advice you can offer.

Re: identifying the colour and tail of a betta
He's not fully flared in the photos, making it tough to pinpoint his tail type. Would you be able to set a mirror next to his tank and take a picture of him fully flared up? I'd love to see him in all his glory, as I'm still trying to determine if he's a rosetail or feathertail.

Based on my observations, I'd say he's a mixed type betta, but I'd love to see more of him flared up to be certain.

The tail's got some ruffles at the end, so I'm leaning towards rosetail.
