Floating plants

Post by dolido »

I went to grab some floaters for my tank to help with heavy metals, but the pet store said they aren't allowed to keep them in stock. Luckily, I've got a friend who might be able to help me out, but if that falls through, what are my options? Also, does anyone have ideas on where to find fluxx since they aren't allowed to be sold?

It's probably due to them being potentially invasive in your area, like if they escaped from your tank into the waterways through a drain or whatever, it could take over the local ecosystem.

You could try using other plants that don't necessarily need to be rooted and would still float at the surface, like Hornwort or Pennywort - they'd do the job just fine.

Thanks for the help, I did some research and found out there was an outbreak of this floating plant in one area, I'm pretty sure that's why they're not allowed. If I get them from my friend, do you think that would be illegal too?

Hey Will, I'm also having some issues with my tank, heavy metals and parasites are causing some problems, I was thinking about getting some help for that too.
