Still diving deeper into the world of fishkeeping and aquariums in geneflake, I recently discovered my Aqueon light just isn't cutting it for my plants. I was aware of the numerous options out there, but I was hesitant to splurge on a high-end light like Chihiros. Man, I'm glad I finally took the plunge and got it yesterday - this thing is incredible. Definitely no regrets about pulling the trigger on the light. Next on my list is CO2.
I attempted to take some pics, but the camera doesn't do it justice - the color variance is just too much.
I love the chihiros wrgb 2.

I can give you the lowdown on the Chihiros - it's got a colour temp of 6500-7500K, 90 watts, and 9000 lumens. Haven't found a link to the exact model I got, but I can tell you it's been a game-changer for my plants.

Here's the link I bought it from - Chihiros Aquatic Studio. Got the Chihiros WRGB II 10th Edition LED Light - it's a 3 in 1 RGB led setup, APP controllable, with 3 colors (Red, Green and Blue) that are adjustable.
I'm having some trouble accessing the site from work right now, but you can check it out on www.chihirosaquaticstudio.com. I opted for the 120 model, which fits my 48" wide aquarium perfectly, with or without the rim.

I'm not a huge fan of the Chihiros WRGB II - it lacks a white LED, making it tough to capture colour-balanced pics. The colour shift does make the plants and fish pop, but it's not my cup of tea. There's a pro model with a white LED, but it's ridiculously pricey. I've also tried the Fluval Plant 3.0, which isn't bad, but it has a slight yellow tint that some folks don't like. The AI Blade seems fairly neutral to me, leaning slightly cool.
All these lights are adjustable, but some are way harder to dial in than others. The GHL lights I own are pretty solid, but they're expensive and a pain to use - the light quality is top-notch, though.
As for PAR, I recall measuring the WRGB II at max and it was around 1.5 to 2 times the Fluval Plant 3.0. The AI Blade falls somewhere in between the WRGB II and the Plant 3.0. The GHL lights are seriously powerful - I never ran them near 100% on my 18-inch deep tank, except for the Plant 3.0, which I ran at around 85-90%.
Even with CO2, all these lights except the Plant 3.0 are overkill for tanks under 24 inches deep. For 24 and 36-inch deep tanks with low-red plants, you do need a bit more oomph, especially if you're injecting CO2.

I'm really enjoying the color output of my new light. I think it's great, but I know everyone's got their own preferences. The Pro model caught my eye, but I figured it would be overkill for my tank - and like you said, it's even pricier.
