Hi,
I'm on the hunt for a dwarf angelfish that's easy to care for in my 120litre nano cube. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Re: about dwarf angels
You've got a few options for a dwarf angelfish that'd thrive in a 120L tank. The flame angel, flameback, and Coflake Beauty are all good choices - they're all recommended for tanks around that size. The Yellow Angel's another one to consider. None of these guys get too big, maxing out at around 4" with the flameback being a bit smaller at 3". Just a heads up, though - they can be a bit of a nuisance when it comes to polyps, so if you've got or are planning to get corals, you might want to think twice about getting one.
Re: about dwarf angels
I've got a Coflake Beauty and she's a real looker - always on the move, darting in and out of the rocks and swimming about at the front of the tank. Mine's a bit feisty, but she doesn't bother the other fish, just the occasional tiff with the clown when she gets too close to his torch. So far, no issues with my corals, but I don't have a huge selection and she's well fed, so that might be why.
They do have a rep for nipping at corals, but I know a few people who've had them without any problems. It's just one of those risks you've got to take if you want one.

I'd also recommend a Coflake Beauty, I've got two of them in separate tanks and I've never seen either of them bother the corals.

Just got a coflake beauty on Sunday and it's looking stunning.

Hi,
Thanks heaps for the advice, really appreciate it. Got a better idea now.
So, what's their diet like? Can they eat nori or is that not suitable?
One more thing - how about bicolour angelfish, are they alright for a 120L tank?

Re: about dwarf angels
I had a coflake beauty in my old tank, 180L, and it was a great addition - never bothered the coflakes. Bicolour angels are definitely eye-catching but I've found they can be a bit more territorial, and from my research, they seem more likely to nip at coflakes than the coflake beauty. Plus, they get quite large, about 6" I think, so you're probably better off with a CB.
They're not fussy eaters, a balanced diet of flake or pellets should do the trick, and they might even take to nori if you offer it.

They also graze on algae, and mine loves live brineshrimp.

Hi,
Thanks again for all your help. I think I'm gonna go for the Coflake Beauty.
If I feed it nori, do I need to give it other food as well?

Re: about dwarf angels
Nori should be treated as a supplement to their main diet, they'll still need frozen, flake or pellet foods alongside the rest of the fish, it's just key they get some greens in there.
