Is my african cichlid carrying eggs?

Post by photobug »

Honestly, I'm stumped. My Melanchromis Tangazo, about 2 inches and roughly 6 months old, hasn't eaten in a week, yet it looks the same to me. I've had a chaotic week, just moved yesterday, and now I'm worried. All my cichlids are the same size, and it's concerning that one of the Melanchromis Tangazo passed away yesterday. I'd appreciate any help I can get.

The females are the ones that hold the eggs, surprisingly young to be breeding already, but I guess anything can happen. If it's holding, you should notice it constantly fiddling with something in its mouth, kinda like it's chewing all the time.
