identifying a particular blenny species

Post by Aurorax »

Hi all,

Just got my hands on this lovely new fish and I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what it is. I did a Google image search, but it seems I've got the name wrong.

The body is greenish, fading into peach towards the back, and it's got these gorgeous pink and blue fins. But the real standout feature is the single eye just before the tail starts.

I'll try to get a picture if I have to, but these fish are tricky to capture. Does anyone recognize this description? I'm pretty sure I saw a picture of it on this site somewhere, but I'm having trouble finding it now.

Would really appreciate some help with this.

Bicolor Blenny sounds like a possibility (Ecsenius bicolor)?

Thanks Matt for the suggestion, I really appreciate it. The link you provided is definitely a great resource, I've already bookmarked it for future reference.

I've finally managed to get a photo of my blenny, and I'm glad to say he's settling in nicely now. Here's a link to the picture:

Thanks again everyone for your help.
