hello, so i just added a yellow clown goby to my 2.5 gallon pico tank after acclimating it. i'm pretty sure it's normal for it not to eat right away, but after today, i'm not sure how to go about feeding it.
i've got some brine shrimp on hand, hopefully the goby will take to it. do i just release the food into the tank and let it swim around, or is there a better way to do it?

Yeah you can just let the food float around, the goby'll grab it when it's ready. Alternatively, turn off your powerheads and drop the food near him, that way it's not getting swept away.creebo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 9:25 pm hello, so i just added a yellow clown goby to my 2.5 gallon pico tank after acclimating it. i'm pretty sure it's normal for it not to eat right away, but after today, i'm not sure how to go about feeding it.

Leave the tank lights off for the first day, then you can switch back to your regular schedule. For the first feeding, I'd say try it on the second or third day. When you do, turn off your powerheads and use a pipette to drop some food right above the goby. Just sit quietly and watch - make sure there's no loud noise or distractions in the room. It's still going to be skittish, so keep things calm. Only add a tiny bit of food, they don't need much, especially in a small tank like that.

hey creebo, would you mind sharing a full tank shot of your pico setup?

I'll give it a shot with my old camera, if it's all blurry I might have to look into getting a new one. If I do manage to get a decent pic, I'll probably post it in the members photos section or start a new thread, we'll see.
