A clearer explanation is needed

Post by eleNt »

I guess I'll explain again. Don't want to get flamed, but YouTube's on my radar now. I'm not a fan of being guilt-tripped into avoiding videos, either. Okay, so I broke my own rule today - a big crafting channel (not named here, obviously) uploaded some cringeworthy videos years ago. One of them made a TV aquarium for gouramis, way too small, and another had a GloFish fountain with some seriously bad 'aquariums' that were basically just fish torture. Yeah, they've made some pretty questionable 'hack' videos.

Maybe just stick some fake fish in a jar instead of putting real ones in harm's way. You get the idea.

And yeah, TFF, I've messed up again. I'm owning up to it, too - I've been watching their videos.

I think avoiding these types of videos is the best approach. They just bring unnecessary frustration. Once you click on them, YouTube's algorithm takes over and you're stuck with similar suggestions. I've learned it's often better to steer clear of things that upset me, or others for that matter.

I'll give it another shot... (again) I just couldn't help but chuckle when I saw that title

I think eleNt's right, we should just avoid this stuff altogether. If you click on those videos, YouTube's algorithm will just keep suggesting more of the same, and that's not what we need. There's plenty of other things out there that are annoying or upsetting, maybe we're just better off avoiding them.

You're entitled to your viewing preferences, even if I don't share them. I've fought for your freedom to make choices, literally - I lost the use of my right eye defending that right. How could I possibly contradict myself by trying to censor your decisions? I won't support certain sites and videos, as I believe they spread misinformation and harm home aquatics. However, that's my choice, and I'd never try to dictate yours - your personal choices are yours alone, not mine to make.
