keeping my neolamprologus brichardi cichlids

Post by finley22 »

hey everyone, just thought id share some pics of my new fish and setup, hope you like them

ive got a bit of a problem though - my fish are super fussy eaters and wont touch flake or cichlid pellets, they just wont go near the top of the tank. at the moment they're only eating brineshrimp and bloodworm, but i need something a bit more convenient for my mum to feed them while im away next week, so if anyone's got any tips that would be great

Aww, thanks for sharing the pics of your adorable fish, finley22. I do love them, they're so cute.

As for food, I think Tetra Prima would be perfect for them - it's a great alternative to flakes and pellets.

I do... I love them!! Tetra Prima will be ideal for them. It's a great option since it's a sinking food, so your babies will definitely go for it.

It's a floater at first but then it sinks.

awesome, that sounds perfect. I bought those cichlid pellets yesterday, didn't realize they were floating ones. Figured it might not matter, but since they don't go near the top, I guess it does. thanks for the tip, I'll order some Tetra Prima online tonight.

They're lovely, will the colour stay like that? I'm still learning about them too. Dark rocks would've been my choice, think it'd make the colour pop. The all-white decor's a bit much for me, just my opinion.

My old Fairies tank inhabitants were always dashing about, some of my earliest fish-keeping experiences and what characters they were. I still think Daffodils would've been a better choice over Fairies though.

My first fish were Fairies, and they'd zoom around the tank everywhere. Lovely characters, I must say. If I'm being honest, I'd still pick Daffodils over Fairies though.

yeah, they keep their colour, might get a bit more blue on the fins, i get what you mean about the rocks, just used ones i already had, like it, but might add some darker ones later

My Fairies went all over the tank, they were some of my first fish that i owned. Brillkento4t characters. Still would have gone with the Daffodils over the Fairies though.
