are my fins really thin?
are my fins really thin?
My fish's fins seem to be thinner and I've noticed tiny pinholes in them. I'm worried it might be a skin infection - has anyone else seen this before?
Re: are my fins really thin?
You really need to add a pic of this for anyone to give you decent advice. No way to tell what's going on without seeing it.
Re: are my fins really thin?
I think Lachlan's response could have been phrased in a friendlier way. Instead of saying it's "totally" necessary to add a photo, maybe something like 'it would be really helpful if you could share a picture of your betta' would've been nicer. Anyway, I'd love to hear any advice you guys might have. Here's a picture of my betta Pineapple - I'm really worried about those pinholes in his fins.
Re: are my fins really thin?
I've reuploaded the picture to reduce the glare. Here's a clearer photo of Pineapple's fins.
Re: are my fins really thin?
Could this be a case of Pineapple still developing his fins, and they'll fill out as he grows?

Re: are my fins really thin?
I've had sevale bettas where the fins had transparent spots, resembling pinholes, and it never caused any issues. I've noticed this more in my older bettas. My younger male, not yet a year old, doesn't have it, but my 3-year-old boy had it for over a year and was perfectly healthy until he suddenly fell ill and passed away.
