are my cichlids african or american?

i'm not sure where they're from, africa or americas and i'm not sure if the food i've got is right for them i just bought some new era pellets from my local fish shop, has anyone kept these fish before? any info would be great thanks kirk

looks like an african cichlid, reminds me of some i had in my community tank, beautiful colour on them, hope the new era pellets work out for you, what made you choose them over the usual food?
