Feeding trumpet coral
I've got a trumpet coral I'm trying to target feed, and the polyps that face upwards are a breeze - just place the food and they close up no problem. The ones that face outwards, though, are a different story. I've tried holding the food there until they close, but that doesn't seem to be working for me. Any suggestions on how to get the food to stick for those outer polyps?
Re: Feeding trumpet coral
I've had some luck with a coral feeder from Kent Marine. I cut the end off and bent the tip at a 45-degree angle by dipping it in boiling water. This lets me get the food right where I need it and hold it in place until the coral takes it. For my Trumpet coral, I've found live black worms or white worms work really well - the coral just loves 'em and the growth is noticeable.
