Hey everyone, long time no see.
I've got a question that's been bugging me, I've noticed my female rosy barb has changed a lot over the past few months. She's now got the same colouring as my male one, really bright and vivid, and her fins have got some black on them. What's weird is she's started chasing the male around now, when before it was the other way around.
I know some animals can change sex, but I thought that was species specific? So is my female rosy barb just super healthy or has she actually changed sex? I'm genuinely confused about this.
I've got some pics to show the difference.

As you can see, it's a big difference. Is it possible for rosy barbs to change sex, or is it something else going on here?
Can female rosy barbs change sex?
Re: Can female rosy barbs change sex?
I think it's unlikely your female rosy barb has changed sex, as sex change isn't characteristic of this species. It's more probable you had a juvenile male that resembled a female in colouration, which has now matured and developed its male colouration.
