recently acquired a collection of aquatic tanks

Post by lentoa »

hi guys, got a new rack of 3ft tanks and a few smaller ones, gonna set it up over the next few days. looking for some advice on how to run it all, heaters, filters, air lines etc.

got the white tubing for the air, can run 12 individual air lines, just need some suggestions on pond pumps, make and model would be great.

thinking of partitioning a couple of the tanks, not sure whether to do one or two, any other ideas you guys have would be great, cheers

I'm not a cichlid keeper myself, but I've had good results with a setup that might be worth considering. I run multiple sponge filters, four to be exact, and they're all powered by a single Sera precision air pump. It's a great little pump, really quiet and has an adjustable airflow which is handy for fine-tuning.

Looks good to me, one partition and two grow out tanks sounds like a solid plan.
You've got me considering a breeding setup now, food for thought lol

I had a few tanks scattered around the house and thought it'd be great to get them all in one spot, so I bought this rack and I'm planning to sell the rest of my tanks except my show tank. The guy I bought this from has another rack of 4ft tanks that might come up for sale, and I asked him to let me know if it does as I'm pretty interested.

If I can get my Saulosi to breed I might have to get something like this lol. What's the plan for your breeding setup, what species are you looking to breed?

This is great mate, you're really going all out now. When's the next big show tank coming along then? Are these F1s you're working with? I've just got my hands on some wild Tropheops Higga Reef's and Labeotropheus Trewavasae Higga Reef's - been after these for ages, every time I've tried to get wilds, these were never available. If you're interested in some young ones when they start breeding, I think these species are really something special - both are stunning and pretty rare, if I'm being honest.

Do you live in the UK, I'm after some Flavus and was wondering if you've got any to sell, would be great if you're close by.
