is my betta happy?

Post by Rizen »

I've been keeping an eye on Hank, my betta, and I've noticed something pretty cool - when he's happy, he holds his fins out but not all the way. I've seen him do this a lot lately, just chillin' on a plant or in the middle of swimming, fins out, looking super relaxed. At first, I thought he was flaring, but then I realized he didn't look stressed at all, so that made me happy. He's such a sweetie, just doing his thing.

@Rizen I'm glad to hear Hank's doing well, hope he stays that way for you. There's definitely some knowledgeable people on this forum who can offer great advice on betta care, I'm actually considering getting one myself.

@Rizen, I think he's doing great. You know, I've read that a happy betta will often build a bubble nest - that's a really good sign, right?

I completely agree with you. My betta's bubble nests can get so massive, I have to navigate around them just to feed them. It's pretty funny, actually. I do feel a pang of guilt, though - all that effort and no female in sight.

Aww, I totally agree with juice - if you ever consider breeding, I'm sure your boys would be more than ready to go.
