closing down my 30-gallon aquarium

Post by fancy »

I've lost my last 2 fish in the 30 gallon tank, and it's really frustrating. They died the same morning I was cleaning the tank with buckets and a hose, which was a real pain because my Python system wouldn't connect to any of the faucets here. The whole thing started when our laundry tub faucet fell apart and started spraying water everywhere, so we had to get it replaced ASAP. The plumber who came to fix it said the faucet I wanted would be way too expensive, like hundreds of dollars, so he just used the one he had on hand. Now I'm being told I need to attach some part that's supposedly better quality, but honestly, I'm just not sure what's going on.

Sorry to hear about your loss and the python issues. A faucet that works with a python attachment is worth the cost. You might be able to find an adapter that will let you use the current faucet.

I've experienced similar issues with my indoor faucets. I've been using the python with my outdoor faucet/hose, but I'd love to get it working indoors too. The thing is, using the outdoor faucet doesn't give me the control I need over the water temperature when filling my tanks.

Thanks for the link, it actually helped. I ended up buying a faucet specifically designed for laundry tubs - a far cry from the one the plumber initially installed. I know I mentioned this before, but I was adamant that I didn't want that particular faucet. However, our old one had literally fallen apart, shooting the handle to the ceiling and creating a mini fountain in the process. At that point, any working faucet was a welcome relief. Looking back, it's kind of amusing now.
