information about krib

Post by daxlon »

thinking of getting some krib, but i've heard they're pretty sensitive to ph levels, and mine's a bit on the high side - around 7.5 to 8. don't really feel like messing with chemicals to lower it, so wondering if it's just better to leave it as is and not bother trying to adjust it for them.

Krib can handle it, they're pretty adaptable to different water conditions, so you should be fine keeping your pH the same.

You keeping them in a community setup. I've got a pair in mine and they've basically taken over this coconut cave I added, even claimed the piece of slate inside as their own.

They're definitely spawning, the female's in and out constantly and the male's always on guard at the entrance, chasing off any other fish that gets too close. And if she's out, she's just as aggressive, sending other fish packing. I've also got two other Kribs that aren't paired up yet, but they're just as feisty, chasing off fish twice their size - really entertaining to watch, but also super protective of their space.
