discussing aulonocara care

Post by duskore »

Thinking of breeding aulonocara hai reef, was wondering about tank size for a male and 2-3 females. Already got a 350 litre tank, so smaller the better to keep electric costs down. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I'd say a 350L tank is a great size for a small group of aulonocara. For a male and 2-3 females, you're good to go with that tank size. You might even get away with a slightly smaller one, but 350L is a safe bet. As for electric costs, you're already on the right track by considering that.

Last kept Malawis a while back, I'd have thought a minimum of 170ltr for aulonocara hai reef, personally.

75 gallons is a good size, ideal for a male and a few females.
