Are these corals normal?
Re: Are these corals normal?
Thanks for the reassurance, I'm still pretty new to all this and learning as I go. Never thought I'd get so into it, but it's tough with my work schedule. Just checked on the tank and the frog spawn is looking a bit better now, maybe the feed yesterday did the trick. You mentioned they can look like that when they're splitting - what else can I expect if that's what's happening?
Re: Are these corals normal?
Just an update on my frog spawn.. was acting weird cuz it's splitting. I noticed yesterday, it was forming a bubble at the mouth and today, I took a closer look at the skeleton, you can see where it's pinching and starting to push in where it will become 2. I'm relieved and excited, was worried for a bit but thanks for all the help and reassurance guys.

Glad to hear that, finley9. I had a similar experience with one of my hammers, it was doing the same thing about a month ago, now it's almost got two separate heads.
Re: Are these corals normal?
I remember when I first got into this hobby, I had a similar issue with my LPS - my Duncan and frogspawn would get all puffy. Turns out my salinity was creeping up, so I'd recommend checking yours, making sure your hydrometer is spot on or consider using a refractometer.
Re: Are these corals normal?
Both of your corals, the Duncan and frogspawn, look good to me, they seem happy and healthy.
Re: Are these corals normal?
Update - the frogspawn's all fixed now, it's 2 separate heads and puffy again, not all stringy like before. And get this, it even pushed out like 7 babies from its skirt.
My Duncan's doing alright too, it doesn't puff up as much since I cut back on feeding it. Used to be 2 times a week, now it's more like 1 time every 2 weeks. It's grown a lot though, from 5 heads to 8 full-sized ones, 2 nickel-sized ones, and 1 dime-sized one. And I can see 2 new heads forming, so that's pretty cool. I'm pretty happy with how they're doing. Here are some updated pics.
