identifying the mystery fish

Post by Ravynox »

Got a few pics to share, not the best quality I know. Fish is still in the bag, acclimating to the quarantine tank - I'll try to get some more pics once it's settled in. So, here's the story - the fish store ordered black/gold chromis, but got one spot damsels instead and this guy. They weren't sure what it was, so I picked it up cheap. It'll be the only one in my QT tank for a bit while I try to figure out what it is and if it'll work in my collection. If not, I can return it to the LFS for a full refund in store credit - got that in writing from the manager. Posting some pics to see what you guys think it might be. I'll try to get some better pics once it's in the tank and I'll share any info I find here. Body shape looks kinda like a chromis to me, but that's just my two cents - I'm no expert.

Thanks to Nexar in the chat room, I've got a possible ID - it's looking like a Neoglyphidodon crossi. Now I'm left deciding what to do with it.

Honestly, I'd return it.
