first off, sorry for all the posts, been doing tons of research but cant seem to find any clear answers to my questions.
just got my yellow clown goby and i'm freaking out - it's got like 8 tiny white bumps on it! cant get a pic, they're super small. could it be itch? noticed them when i brought it home from the store.
goby seems fine otherwise, but it's only been in the tank for 2 days and it hasn't eaten yet. tank specs: 2.5g, 3 lbs live rock, 1 20g aquaclear filter.
bumps have this weird yellow slime coating around the white dot on the goby's body.
any ideas what this could be? heard some ppl do FW dips to fight off diseases, but i wanna know what i'm dealing with first.
thx for the help
*EDIT*
oh, and btw, are freshwater dips safe? don't wanna kill the fish easily or anything.
*EDIT*
ugh, my bad, posted in wrong section... can an admin pls move this to the saltwater fish section? sorry
My yellow clown goby is sick.
Re: My yellow clown goby is sick.
I think you're on the right track with the freshwater dip idea. I've heard they can be pretty effective against parasites, like ich maybe. But, to be honest, I'm more worried about your goby not eating. If he's not eating, treatment might not make a difference, you know? Did you ask the pet store staff what they were feeding him before you brought him home? Maybe that'll give us a clue about what's going on.
